Electrical Systems

Design and installation of house and engine room electrical circuits; load calculations and wire specifications both AC (110v & 220v) and DC (12v, 24v & 48v); generators; Inverters; isolation transformers; battery management systems (lead-acid and lithium-ion) analogue switching systems; digital switching systems; battery banks; solar panels; wind generators; alternators; shore-power systems.

Marine electronics

Full glass bridge installations (ECDIS); Chart plotter, (Various brands such as Raymarine, Garmin, Furuno, Simrad etc.) Radar (S-Band, X-Band and broadband), forward looking sonar/fish-finder/depth-sounder; Forward Looking Ifra-Red (FLIR); GPS; Autopilots; Fluxgate compass; AIS; EPIRB’s, SART’s and PLB’s; VHF and SSB marine radios; Weather routing; Satellite communication (Inmarsat, Iridium, VSAT); satellite and terrestrial Television antennae; Audio visual entertainment systems; IT and Networking; proximity sensors and switches; clinometers, PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controllers); underwater cameras, surveillance and security systems, Installation and maintenance.

Engines

Steering and rudder systems

Plumbing, Water-makers (RO); Heating Ventilation and Air-Conditioning; refrigeration; Toilet systems (Electric, vacuum and manual); bilge pumps (manual and electric); potable water systems and plumbing; black water and grey water systems; through-hull fittings; Diesel tanks; Gas installations; Dive-compressor installations.

Deck Fittings

Mounting, servicing and maintaining deck winches, capstans and windlasses; cleats and fair-leads; manual/electric sail-handling systems; hydraulic sail-handling systems; in-boom/in-mast reefing and furling systems; dressing and stepping of masts; tracks, cars and blocks; stanchions and guard rails; GRP hatches; deck hatches and port-lights; decking (synthetic and natural); Glazing; fuel, water and waste fittings.

Interior Joinery, fixtures and fittings

Cabinet making; flooring, paneling and fiddles; upholstery and soft furnishings; cabin liners; lockers, doors and frames; window blinds; working with composites, veneers and solid wood.

Structural work

Plug and mold building; construction and laminating in epoxy and carbon; construction in polyester and fiber-glass; Boat hulls, decks, bulkheads, masts and booms; proficient in hand lay-up open molding, vacuum bagging laminates and cores; vacuum infusing laminate stacks, post-curing laminates; manufacturing inflatable pontoons; Welding (Arc, brazing and S/Steel TIG welding)

Exterior finishing

Filler and primer application – finish coat application – fairing, sanding and spray-painting; Varnishing; non-slip; polishing; anti-fouling.
